The Penn State Smeal Executive MBA Program staff is dedicated to meeting the needs of our students by providing the guidance and resources necessary to help them achieve their goals. The team includes:

Managing Director

Jason comes to the Smeal College of Business with 15 years of business experience in the U.S. and abroad. He has held a variety of leadership roles during his career with firms ranging from start-ups to fortune 500 companies. He holds an EMBA from Smeal (Class of 2011) along with bachelors and masters in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon. He oversees all aspects of the program including admissions.

EMBA Faculty Director

Lou is a clinical professor of finance in the Smeal College of Business and faculty director of both the residential and Executive MBA Programs. Before returning to academia, he worked in financial roles for IBM and Freddie Mac. He has also taught at George Mason and the University of Maryland. Lou holds a BS in finance from Smeal and an MBA, MA (Economics), and Ph.D (Economics) from George Mason.

Jamie Campbell
EMBA Diversity Director and Coach 

Jamie is the Assistant Dean for Diversity Enhancement Programs at the Smeal College of Business. He is the recipient of the 2013 Dr. James Robinson Equal Opportunity Award, which recognizes a Penn State faculty or staff member who has contributed to the University by improving cross-cultural understanding. He has served as a panelist on topics ranging from social justice to students’ issues and has served as a speaker for several leadership programs. Currently, he holds a BA in Sociology from Morehouse College and an M.Ed. from Central Michigan University. Jamie currently is a fourth year Ph.D. student in the Workforce Education Program with concentrations in Organization Design and Human Resource Development at Penn State. His research focuses on Succession Planning as a form of Crisis Management.

Program Coordinator

Based at the University Park campus, Tara provides service and support to students and faculty and coordinates program operations and events. She assists with the recruitment of new students and monitors admission, registration, and graduation processes. She is present on-site during class weekends and during the University Park residency experiences. Tara’s background includes 16 years of experience in higher education recruitment and admission. She received her master’s degree in Counselor Education from Penn State and is licensed in Pennsylvania as a Professional School Counselor.
